The Right Solution for Any Issue
The lack of proper lubrication is the most common cause of noisy door. Your task is to clean properly with garage door springs, tracks, rollers and bearings and to lubricate them afterwards. For the cleaning, you will need solvent suitable for metal objects. When it comes to the lubricant, it should be long lasting and provide good coverage. At the same time, it should not be sticky. It is worth looking at the products which are recommended by the manufacturer of our door.
When some parts loosen up, they can produce quite a lot of noise. This is particularly true for the hinges. They make squeaky sounds when they are loose. Tighten them properly and clean them to get rid of the noise. When the garage door tracks are misaligned, the rollers can rub against them and cause scraping sounds. The misalignment is typically due to the loosening of certain bolts. They should be tightened and everything should go back to normal. If the track is bent, replacement will be required.
If the noise is coming from the garage door opener, the motor is most likely to blame. In this situation, it is best if you disconnect the device and operate the door manually. This will prevent any further issues with the motor and protect it from damage.
The sooner the motor is inspected and repaired the better. Typically, garage door opener replacement will not be required so you should not worry about the cost.
